Your documents are scattered across folders. The answers are buried in pages. Locus reads everything and gives you cited answers — never fabricated, always traceable to the exact file, page, and section.

The signed contract commits to completion by 15 March [Contract.pdf, page 42, Section 14.1 Key Dates]. Variation 003 extended this to 30 June [VAR-003.pdf, page 2, Section 2.1], but the LD schedule still penalises from 16 March at $45,000/day [Contract.pdf, page 58, Schedule 8]. The variation didn't update the LD clause.

Professional indemnity insurance expires 28 February [Insurance_Certificate.pdf, page 1, Period of Cover]. The contract requires continuous coverage until final completion [Contract.pdf, page 31, Section 11.3]. Works may be uninsured for 4 months.

The fee proposal includes dynamic modelling and load studies [Proposal.pdf, page 8, Section 3.2 Scope]. The signed agreement explicitly excludes all dynamic modelling [Agreement.pdf, page 4, Schedule 1 Exclusions]. The client may expect deliverables that aren't contractually owed.

Capabilities

Every file converges
to one point of clarity

Locus doesn't guess, infer, or fabricate. It reads your documents, indexes them locally, and grounds every answer in the actual source.

Cited, never fabricated

Every answer traces back to your actual documents — file name, page number, exact section. If Locus can't find it in your files, it won't make it up.

Every office format

PDFs, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint decks, CSVs, and plain text — all readable, all searchable, all in one place.

Files stay on your machine

Documents never leave your computer. Only relevant text fragments are sent to the AI — never stored, never logged.

Cross-document verification

Spot contradictions between documents, track requirements across files, and surface inconsistencies that would take hours to find manually.

Indexed in seconds

Point Locus at any folder. Re-opens are instant — only new or changed files get re-processed.

Desktop native

A lightweight app that feels part of your OS. No browser tabs, no cloud accounts, no friction.

The rules

What Locus does.
What it doesn't.

What it does
Reads every file in your folder. PDFs, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint decks, CSVs, plain text.
Answers from the documents only. Every factual claim cites the exact file, page, and section it came from.
Compares across files. Spots contradictions, tracks requirements, surfaces inconsistencies between documents that different people wrote at different times.
Says "That's not in these documents" when it can't find the answer. Then stops. No guessing, no padding, no filler.
Keeps your files on your machine. Documents are read and indexed locally. Only small text fragments are sent to the AI for answering. Nothing is stored.
What it doesn't
Does not use outside knowledge. No internet, no training data, no general knowledge. If it's not written in your documents, Locus doesn't know it.
Does not make things up. No "based on my knowledge" or "generally speaking." Every answer is grounded or it's not given.
Does not add opinions or advice. No "you should consider" or "best practice suggests." Locus reports what your documents say. That's it.
Does not chat. It's not a conversational AI. It's not your assistant. It reads folders and answers questions about them.
Does not send your files anywhere. No cloud upload. No sync. No migration. Your folder stays where it is.
